On the road...

We have hit the road on our way to the slopes of North Carolina. We have just crossed South Carolina and can't wait to hit the snow - literally "hit" the snow. We will be seeing Charlie Hall at a conference in NC, later traveling to see Cirque du Soleil "Corteo" in Atlanta. Finally, chilling at Passion 06 with Matt Redman and even stoping at Disney World on the way back to say whats up with Mickey. - Cya Soon

Christmas 06'

After a wonderful Christmas Celebration at MBC it was time to see the family and eat up! We had a great time at my In-Laws, the food was great and the gift exchange was outta hand this year. Kudos to Alex Meza for always raising the bar! Anyway, here's a pic of the gift I got Marcy: It's a pretty big portrait (Chalk,Pastel canvas 3'x4') her professor Dr. Chang made of her. The story is that she modeled for him some months back and gave her a mini print so she could see what it looked like, the original was out of our price range until I worked it out and finally was able to purchase and frame it... right on time. It's beautiful ... you should all stop by the house and see it! I got amazing gifts this year myself, I asked for nothing but I was totally hooked up. Among the top gifts are: Some beautiful brown shoes my wife gave me, Two tickets to John Mayer - my bud Carlos gave and and awesome iPod recorder/speaker for my Video iPod that Alex hooked up! Sweet Sweet Sweet! Not to mention the Mac Book Pro my wife and I agreed to gift ourselves.
Anyway, thats enough bragging - the only thing missing was my family from Brazil , but we got to iChat on video all night .. it was great! God is good ...it's been a wonderful year and he has showered us with Blessings - Thank You !!

Christmas Eve ... here we come!

Christmas Eve is just around the corner and our staff at MBC just had a last minute staff meeting to decide if we would continue to have services outside in the tent or (because of the rain this weekend) have services inside - better yet -have many services inside. The votes are in and the judges have decided .. there will be three morning services (9,11 & 1) and one candlelight evening service at 6:30 pm. So for the millions of members reading my blog who will be attending.. please bring a chair, cause you're gonna be standing if you don't. hehe

- 9 & 11 AM team "While you were sleeping" came out awesome - Kudos to Martha for ripping our piano in half with her skills.

-1 PM team - groovy baby , yeah ! You guys sounded great - Carlos, keep it up playa! As we like to call it "Funka Nova" where bossa nova meets funk.

-Choir - you guys are hyperactively wired to not sit in place with your mouth shut. But I love you all - the party was a blast - lets keep praying for the "Meza Family" and their organized crime during white elephant games - sin is sin, you know what i mean - hehe j/k

- Mike & Connie - you guys are awesome - I'm blessed to see your passion and growth

Merry Christmas...

To our family & friends....

And we're back....

What a relief... the semester is done and my GPA hasn't gone down ! Steady 3.79 baby !!
Anyway, it feels great to finish ... I took 4 classes this semester: Early Christianity, Religion & Culture, Holocaust Memorials & Neurology of Religion Great classes, but way too much content for 4 months worth of class. Anyway .. I have one more semester and a half to go and then its cap and gown time. I can't wait ...

With finals done, I get to focus on our Christmas events. The arts team has been working hard - Band is getting tight, dancers jumping higher and the choir is sounding great. It'll be a great Christmas Eve....

I'm also looking forward to Ricky and Amy's wedding Friday night ... I wish them the best - our entire small group will be there to crash the party !! hehe

Things I did this past week ...

-Learned how to play poker (and won)
-Designed our 2007 Christmas Card with Marcy
-Worked out every day (its become an awesome stress releaving hobbie)
-sent my Parents and siblings Christmas gifts
-wrote 1 term paper and took 3 finals

Finals are from the devil...

Due to the overwhelming amount of final prep and term papers i have in front of me ... I will be "blog-fasting" if one could say that! Anyway.. I mean it ... FINALS ARE FROM THE DEVIL!! I will be seeing all you faithful readers sometime at the end of next week ... However, If i do extremely well .. then I'll show up here and let ya'll know.. but if I don't, it just means I'm drowning in the evil oppression of the enemy ! pray for me ... one more semester till "deliverance" :)

Flowers & Fancy Chocolates ...

Alright, so i just finished eating dinner with my amazing wife after hooking her up with flowers and fancy chocolates! Thats right - I am the man tonight ... hehe - Just like my dad taught me:

Speaking of dad .. i miss that Ribeiro brady bunch soo much. One day I'll dedicate more time and blog space in expressing how much I love my family and how much i miss them. They are amazing ... I owe them soo much ... Te amo RIbeiros!

Anyway .. I'm about to watch some more HEROES - you gotta love it ... I'm hooked! Great writing, decent soundtrack, and freakin people that fly !! I'm not into marvel or superhero stuff ... but my wife is .. and she has got me going on HEROES .. there is no turning back now!

Any-who ... cant wait till Christmas "programming" is over ...

Then I get to Celebrate my Second Anniversary, get to Ski, See Charlie Hall, Go to Cirque du Soleil (Corteo), Go to Passion (for a day at least), turn off my cell phone, ignore FIU, chill with friends....and much more.

The countdown begins ... 22 days till we're out !!

Yep ... and you know what - I'll do all over again and twice as much if needed. I love my Job..
If only I got to do ONLY what I'm called to do ... so many distractions though.. I long for the day I'll see : Clarity, Movement, Alignment, & Focus .. one day, one day .. any-who .. let me go pray about that right now ...

Crazy Week....

What a week it has been! I must start with the greatest news ever .. one of our small group couples (Kaleb & Betsy) are pregnant - Congratulations! Kaleb, you are indeed THE MAN! Our small group has been a blessing .... what a crazy bunch - gotta love -em. It's just great to do life together with other people that love God and seek to please Him as well. Anyway , I must say that I have the best wife ever !! I mean it .. I'm such a lucky guy! She's the hottest loving girl I know ! Thank-you baby ... you mean the world to me !! Moving along, Christmas is right around the corner and our house is already decked out .. its our first Christmas at our new home .. look for some pics at heredes.com. School is sucking the brains out of me ... term papers are done .. 3 more finals to go and I'm out for the semester. Then .. one more semester and cap and gown baby! Can't wait ... Anyway .. here are some other things that happened this week .. just for my records .. no one reads these anyway ..

- Had my MRI done (scary...)
- Decorated our house for Christmas
-lead worship at WOW (Sing to the King, Arms of Love)
-lead worship for The Movement (The Difference, Endlessly,All Because of You, Glorious One, Hallelujah)
-prepped for Women's Tea, Sunday Morning and ZEAL (whata week)
- prepped for Christmas Eve services
- chilled with the following friends this week .. Sam & Tiff, Ivan & Lizbet, Everyone at Small Group .. Love you guys ..
- I also worked out 4 times this week ..and am about to right now ....
- Wrote a song with Yannick ... British Rock for sure!
