Baptism Story

We used the video below this past weekend as part of Pr. Troy's teaching .... Jose decided to get Baptized on Thursday , we interviewed his son on Friday, edited the video overnight and aired it all weekend at all of our campuses.... What a God story! One hundred and fifty one people got baptized on the spot ... Such a beautiful God Story - it is never to late to paint the picture of Baptism!

Great Weekend ...

Besides the great opening feature at all of our campuses (see the video below - it was sick)
The best part of this past weekend was seeing 151 people get baptized!! One weekend ... one invitation ... one hundred and fifty one people painting the beautiful picture of baptism! God is at work... you better believe it! That brings us to 1069 people total this year .... one thousand and sixty nine! Whoo Hoo!

Naked Pastor & Exposed Pastor

Last night ... the Naked Pastor got to hang out with the Exposed Pastor online ... it was a great authentic conversation and a time to connect with folks from all over the world. my Cajun friend

I recently met Richie Huval in Dallas Texas (pictured above)  Richie is a TV producer and editor - although he now lives and works in Texas ... this boy is a true Cajun!  He talks like one, cracks jokes like one .. and most importantly eats like one too. I had my first authentic Cajun meal with him ... thanks bro! The Gator Tails were intense. 

Any one else into Cajun Cuisine? Can anyone tell me what Boudreaux means?

Are you truly listening?

I've been digging this simple book by Margaret Feinberg ... subtitled "Hearing God's voice in every area of your life." She cleverly elaborates on How God really wants to get our full attention ...and how He not only whispers something once .. He Echoes! It is so easy to put God in a box and expect to hear from Him the same way, the same place and the same time .... what happens when He doesn't? Hmmmm... This book also reminds me of one I read in college .... David Crowder's book "Praise Habit" in which he compared our spiritual life to that of a nun's habit (worn all day as a reminder of her role and discipline as a spiritual leader) - Both these books have truly helped me seek God in creative ways, in creative times and in creative places... and He sure does echo!

Cirque's DELIRIUM - the Movie

I saw this show live about a year ago and loved it! It is a live concert experience with musical compilations from Cirque's best themes and shows... it will be in theaters nationwide for a limited time - (next week only). Marcy and I are looking to go on August 20th ... any bloggers up for a creative blog gathering - let me know - it would make a fun night out. Options include Sawgrass Theater at the mall or Kendall Regal - let us know which you prefer soon so we can book tickets together... we're game.

• - Plan to meet someone new
• - Plan do something different
• - Just Plan something and see it through !

As my old pastor would also say : Proper Prior Planning Prevents Poor Performance! Just Do it!

Side Note: I had a conversation with a friend today who said that he doesn't believe in planning (specifically when it comes to church programming & weekend planning) ... he told me that he just "wings it" and "let's God do the rest". He also said that he feels like he "trusts God more when he does that!"
My response was ... "I love you bro , but you're just stinking Lazy and Stoopid with two O's! You may trust God more (which I don't think is the case) ... but God ain't trusting you with jack squat! That's just lack of passion and drive -- specially for the things of God! --- Then I told him that he was indeed planning alright ... planning his failure and complacency route... which at the end of our convo (and after I paid for his coffee) --- he agreed. :)

...I told him I would share this ...so no worries ..... he doesn't read my blog anyway ...

Any thoughts from blogville? I'd like to hear your take...

Slava's Snow Show

I'm sitting at an Irish Pub with my wife Marcy, blogging from my iPhone, eating a Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad, drinking a tall glass of water while listening to a live band with an average age of 50 playing REM! Gotta love Miami - Anyway ... we just came from Slava's Snow Show currently residing at the Carnival theater - Loved it , Liked it , Needed more of it ... however - I had the best clown sitting next to me the entire show ... I think she applied for the tour. Good times babe ...
