Hurricane IKE Update from Pr. Troy

A Message from Pr. Troy Gramling

Dear Blogville,
With such a powerful storm just off the coast, it's easy to get anxious. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. Here are a few thoughts regarding the storm:
Our weekend schedule of gatherings will remain the same. Why not invite your family and friends to attend with you? It is a good opportunity to take a deep breath, quiet our worries and spend an hour focusing on God in times of trouble.
Look for opportunities to help your neighbors. Hurricane preparation can be difficult to do alone; but it is a great opportunity to do life together.
Be prepared to share the "WHY" of your faith: Even in storms, you have a peace and a confidence that comes from following Christ, and this makes all the difference.
Stay safe!
Steph and I love you guys. TOGETHER we'll make it through the storms and TOGETHER we'll CHANGE the world.

God Bless,
Troy & Steph

More than a Game - Theme

This has been our opening theme for the series "More Than a Game" here at Flamingo ... All the footage and audio was created in house ... Pr. Troy's Audio Bytes, The Runner, Score, the Graphics etc.. I love the energy it creates every time we air it.

Production Notes:
I got an email asking how this video was done and thought I would share a rough skeleton of the production schedule for this specific video.. roughly - here's how it went down. If you'd like more details .. email me

Monday - Idea was generated by planning team
Tuesday - Music Track rough-draft was done at request (by one of our worship pastors)
Wednesday - We scheduled and shot Pr. Troy's part (he just opened his journal and shared from the heart)
Thursday - We scheduled and shot the Runner (a friend) at a local High School
Friday - Editing & Post
Saturday - More Editing & Post

Weekly schedule includes many meetings, phone conversations, texting, revisions and late night hours of post work. Great collaboration is necessary to pull it off. ::inside joke:: "His Name is Joshua..."

Video Fun Fact - Look for this frame... he is wearing the series logo on his back .. see it ?

Go & Grow!

Be Better Tomorrow Than You Are Today
... from Maxwell's The 360°Leader

"Often, when people get to their desired destination, they stop striving to grow or improve.

There's certainly nothing wrong with the desire to progress in your career, but never try to "arrive." Instead, intend your journey to be open-ended. Most people have no idea how far they can go in life. They aim way too low. The key to personal development is being more growth oriented than goal oriented. There is no downside to making growth your goal. If you keep learning, you will be better tomorrow than you are today, and that can do many things for you.
