CELIA

Marcy and I went to see CELIA last night at the Carnival Theater (now known as the Adrienne Arsht Center). I expected a Cuban cover band playing all of Celia's hits but was blown away by the seamless production. Apparently CELIA has recently been a hit in New York and is now down in Miami for a season. I did not know this! The acting, transitions, video usage, comedy and dancing took this off-Broadway show to a Broadway level. I did not know any history behind Celia's life .. but after attending - I feel like I'm an expert. Read more about her life and legacy here . Any who ... it was a fun night - those Cubans know how to salsa! We later got to hang out at an after party with the cast and friends courtesy of PILON and JP - they had it going on. Big shout out to Silvia and Chants ... and for Pilon - for keeping it cool. ;)

It was a spectacular night!!! Music blaring and Anissa Gathers sangs her heart out. She did great, they couldn't have picked a better performer to play the part.

Thank you Heredes and Marcy for thinking of us and tell your Suegra and Cuñada that they rock.

It was great. And besides it's no fun unless I'm there cause. Everything is better with Frijoles on the side.

Peace out!!!
